2007 Joe's Solo!
On August 13, 2007, our son Joe flew solo for the
first time at Iowa City Airport!
Gary Lust, Joe's flight instructor, would have
soloed him sooner, but Joe misplaced his wallet -- which contained his
all-important FAA Medical document! Without that, he was not legal to
fly without Gary on-board, so Joe may be the first student pilot in history
to have a student cross-country flight under his belt *before* soloing!
As can be seen by the video (click
here to view
it), he absolutely greased all three landings -- a great day, indeed!
