Flight to Rantoul
On Sunday, November 13th, 2005 we flew to Rantoul, IL, for a guided tour of the Chanute Air Force Museum.
Originally planned as a Civil Air Patrol Hawkeye Squadron function, it became apparent that we didn't have all the "t's" crossed and "i's" dotted to satisfy CAP upper echelon's paperwork requirements -- so we made the flights as a group of friends and aviation enthusiasts instead!
Jim Burns flew down from Stevens Point, WI in their beautiful Piper Aztec so that Jim and his son, Nick could help us haul 2 adults and 5 kids on the 90-minute flight to Rantoul. A great -- and educational -- time was had by all!
