There is nothing -- NOTHING -- like attending a Big Ten College Football game. And the best college football in the world is played right here in Iowa City. Every year the University of Iowa's Hawkeyes play six football games at historic Kinnick Stadium -- an easy 15 minute walk from the inn -- and the town just goes WILD!
The autumn air is crisp, the competition spirited -- and the tailgate parties are in full swing! Tens of thousands of Iowa alumni and fans converge on Iowa City from all over the country on these fall days, with the city's population easily doubling for a 48-hour period.
Upwards of fifty aircraft fly into Iowa City's Airport, often requiring the closing of one runway for parking alone, and six cab companies compete ferociously for the stadium business. Every hotel for 100 miles is booked, and the city is just ROCKING!
