Lake Erie's Maritime History
Ohio was hit with 10 inches of rain while we were there, causing widespread flooding and power outages. With flying impossible, we took advantage of the down time to explore the rich maritime history of Lake Erie, and found some truly unusual and interesting places to explore.
Finding (of all things) a Confederate Cemetery on an island in Lake Erie stands out as an unusual thing to see, indeed -- but find it we did. We had a great time during this impromptu "rain day", and the kids learned a thing or two, as well.
