The Week in Review

Although this was our 22nd consecutive Oshkosh fly-in, it was the first time we actually spent an entire week camped next to our plane.   In an unusual turn of events, the weather was actually perfect for camping, with warm (but not hot) days, and cool (but not cold) nights.

Usually, Oshkosh weather in late July is not so kind.  It only rained twice, and most of that fell overnight while we were asleep.

And the planes -- oh, the planes.  10,000+ planes, parked wingtip-to-wingtip, as far as the eye can see.  No where else on the planet can you feel such an immersion in the aviation community, and each year we draw strength and hope from our association with such a fine group of pilots and enthusiasts.

And the shopping -- did I mention shopping?   We didn't add much to Atlas this year (an air/oil separator was about it) -- but we did manage to find artwork and memorabilia for our next five aviation-themed suites!   Only in Oshkosh can you find everything for aviation, from wing ribs to original paintings, from propellers to stained glass windows.

Oshkosh may not be heaven -- but it's the closest thing we've found.
