The Alexis Park Inn is one of the neatest hotels I've ever visited. My large suite (with Jacuzzi hot tub) was decorated in an airplane theme - The Red Baron Suite. Very fun.
The Inn's lobby has the feel of an aviation museum with vintage airplane parts, photos, flying memorabilia, books, and wonderful aviation artwork for guests to enjoy.
Enough nice talk: The Alexis Park Inn is a GREAT VALUE. My multi-room suite had: A large kitchen – midnight snacks. A plus-sized Jacuzzi, which was awesome!! A separate large bedroom, with a comfortable bed. A separate living room off the kitchen. A balcony with a view. All of this, and more (like FREE High Speed Internet) for a price that was lower than basic room rates at the “bargain chains.”
Almost forgot about the complimentary breakfast tray waiting by my door along with the hometown newspaper. Talk about attention to detail.
Jay and Mary Honeck are the owners of this jewel and run their Inn as if you're a guest, not just a customer. This is a win-win-win situation, and throw in a few extra wins if you also love airplanes. Did I mention my room’s spacious balcony overlooked one of the runways at the local airport next door? Alexis Park Inn is a fun place to stay when you visit Iowa City.
